Weekend return for Greatrex

Thomas Greatrex has been stood down till Saturday after hurting his arm in a fall at Catterick on Tuesday.

The apprentice jockey took a tumble from Tranchee after his mount came across leaving the beginning stalls.

Greatrex seemed to be kicked and suffered bruising. He was handled heading in the right direction and had his arm put in a sling.

“He has been stood down till Saturday. He needs to be OK. It is bruised however (Dr) Jerry Hill (BHA chief medical adviser) simply wished to test it did not worsen,” his father, Lambourn coach Warren Greatrex, informed PA.

“He simply bought a little bit of a kicking.”

The 3lb claimer has loved a profitable yr up to now with 15 winners together with his first Group success on Santosha within the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot final month. The David Loughnane-trained filly is pencilled in for the Group Two Lowther Stakes at York later this month.

“He is flying alongside. He is fairly assured he’ll be all proper by the weekend,” mentioned Greatrex senior.
